Ender in Exile #2 (Now available)

April 20, 2010 By Aaron Johnston

New cover just released. I’m so thrilled to be working on this project. I’ve long been a fan of Ender’s Game, and I was doing back flips when Orson Scott Card released the direct sequel Ender in Exile in November 2008. Beautiful art by Pop Mahn. Cover by Sebastian Fiumara. For some reason Marvel has billed me as Aaron William Johnston, with my middle name. Not sure why. This means that I now show up on their list of writers twice, once with my middle name and once without. Ah well. What do you do?

Note: This is the first cover to feature Ender’s new enemy, Admiral Quincy Morgan, and his love interest, Alessandra Toscano, a colonist heading to the planet Shakespeare with Ender.

THE STORY:
Thirteen-year-old Ender Wiggin has a new assignment: governor of a colony planet. And Valentine, his sister, has given up everything to join him. But the starship carrying them to their destination carries a new enemy as well: Admiral Morgan, the captain of the ship. Determined to strip Ender of power and seize the governorship for himself, Morgan will do anything to undermine Earth’s youngest and greatest hero. Based on the bestselling novel by science-fiction master Orson Scott Card, the adaptation of the multiple award-winning Ender Wiggin series continues here! Parental Advisory …$3.99

Preview Ender’s Game: The League War (Now available)

April 20, 2010 By Aaron Johnston

My newest one-shot in the Marvel Enderverse is now available. Ender fans (like myself) do not want to miss this one. This is an original story that Scott Card and I developed that’s never been told before: How did Peter and Valentine start and end The League War. Fantastic art by Timothy Green.

Check it.

Great review for Dragon Age #1

April 1, 2010 By Aaron Johnston

So the first review I’ve found for the first issue of Dragon Age is very positive. Many thanks to Jason Kerouac over at Panels For Pages. Jason gives the comic four stars, well actually four hurlock assassins, which is just as good as stars, I guess, only meaner. I mean, stars won’t stab you in the back and trample over your bleeding corpse like hurlocks are prone to do. Anyway check out the review. Jason calls it a “fantastic tale.” Hoorah.

Ender’s Game: League War

March 25, 2010 By Aaron Johnston

I’ve long been a fan of Ender’s Game, and working on the League War comic for Marvel was a real treat. Not only because I got to work in the Enderverse, but also because I got to help develop the story for this one.

As any fan of Ender’s Game will tell you, the League War was the five-day conflict that occurred within the International Fleet immediately after Ender destroyed the Formic home planet. Nations of the Earth were scrambling for power, and Peter and Valentine were mostly responsible for initiating the war and then bringing about its peaceful resolution. The details of this war and how it came to be have never been explored in the Enderverse until now!

Here’s the solicit text that went out to comic shops:

Ender Wiggin is not the only genius child to influence the course of Earth’s history. Not even the only one in his family. After the end of the final Formic War, the nations of the Earth are scrambling for power…and Peter and Valentine Wiggin, Ender’s older and equally intelligent siblings, will start and end a world war with nothing more than words. This ALL-NEW, action-packed followup to Ender’s Game fills in new detail between the pages of the multiple Hugo Award winning Ender Wiggin series by Orson Scott Card.
